sooooo I take my snow thrower for a walk and help my neighbors clean up ,no biggie I enjoy it. Newer older couple on the end of my road are out shoveling , hate to see this soooo I steer the thrower into their driveway. New couple to neighborhood mind you. First facial reaction was. What is this guy doing I proceed to turn off thrower and introduce myself yadda yadda yadda. The gentleman offers to pay me ( not having it)tell him welcome to the neighborhood , they proceed to ask which house is mine I Tell them I'm the guy with all the firewood down the road , his wife , the sweetest little lady you could ever meet tells me we have a lot of downed trees and that I was welcomed to all of it if I wanted Moral is. Even amidst cleaning up snow I'm still able to score some firewood
The Buddhists call that karma. The definition of karma is simply 'cause and effect.' Do something and good will come back to you. Do something bad and the widow maker you failed to see falls and strikes you in the head! Cause and effect..... Well done; way to make folks feel welcome.
I've always enjoyed helping others. People have helped me in the past and I never forget it. Just thought it was worth a chuckle how snowblowing inadvertently turned into a wood score lol
I like quite well, it's a beast. I run it with a 25" bar and chain and have a 28" combo that will get used at least once more. It's heavy for spending a full day in the woods felling and bucking, unless you are way meaner than most. Most of the trees left on my land are easy pickin's for my 461 and 362. There are one or possibly 2 large trees left that would justify the beast. Why did I buy it then? Glad you ask. I bought it because I'm mad, mad I tell you, mad as a hatter!
Well I'm not tooting my own horn or nuttin. But I have been told I'm between tom selleck and jerimiah Johnson
Ralphie boy. I wanted to buy one just to have in my truck lol. Oh and maybe cut a slab or 2 also. That's what I told the wife. She could have some nice tables made
Well done. I remember back about 3 owners back when my next door neighbor was a single woman and my snow thrower was still working. I got done with my driveway in about 20 minutes after a big storm and started to look around. The woman next door had about 24 inches deep drifts in her driveway and I still had fuel in the snowblower so I cleared her driveway. She really appreciated what cost me almost nothing in effort or fuel. It was maybe 15 minutes of my time and under $1 in fuel. It really helps to make sure that you are that good neighbor that everyone knows about even if you get nothing tangible in return. Now there is a cop living in that house but he is not very outgoing. His wife has her dog out front quite often and the dog likes to think he owns my place so I have come to know him by name. In between there were the couple who eventually moved across the street and down 2 houses, what a PITA couple, the south american unmarried couple and now these new folks with the husband being a cop. I have had no trouble with any of these folks because I always try to get along.
