Small score of mostly ash

    This time of year, I try to drive by our city garages as often as I can because that's where they dump the logs from trees that they cut down from around town. It's free but you have to be quick because there is apparently a lot of cheap knot heads like me that scrounge for free wood. It's usually ash that they target because of the ash borer problem. I scored some yesterday that was mostly ash, a little white poplar and elm and a couple of pieces of what looks like it might be locust (judging from the bark) but I'm not quite sure.
    I only burn a couple of cords a year and this, along with what I've gathered over the last few weeks, should just about get me back on the 3yr plan.

    Good score, Brad. Hmmm.. I wonder if a case of some good beverage would entice a city garage employee to text you when a load arrives there. This would NOT be considered bribery - more like "networking", heheh.
