So...I hear you guys talking about different bar mount sizes, and would like to find out which I have for my 029 Stihl, and 359 Husky. I have a 18" on the 359 and 16" on the 029...been thinking the 359 could go to 20" easy and would give me a little more flexibility on larger logs. I can post s/n's if necessary (not sure if age makes a difference).
Thanks...I can find charts, but none say anything about small/large, so I saw some bars in the classifieds and need to know if they will fit. Thanks again!
Power wise it pulls the chit out of the 18"...I just hate to go back and forth on the big logs...or try to flip them to finish the cut.
Well the other thing is balance too. A 20" is just right on my Jred 2159 which is basically the same thing.
029 Stihl has a large bar mount. 029 Super is really a 290 and larger/better than a plain 029. I ran a 20" 3/8 bar on my 290 no problem. I run 25 inch bars on my 361 saw all the time as well. But of course long bars are west coast thing...
