    Maybe, but for folks that have a hard time swinging a heavy sledge… (Aint getting any younger!) I think makes a good alternative. I have a, Ariens 22 ton splitter, but this would come in handy for a quick split….

    Tried a slide hammer maul in the early 90s. Concept is plausible, but I'm going to tell you that that wedge can get stuck far down in the round and you will have much fun dislodging it. With the right specie and short length probably doable.
