We went for our first ride of the season, we did get down in the Ravine but I never took a pic because I didn't want to get stuck, it was very hard getting out of it.

I think once it freezes things will be better.

We did hit three of the four trails I worked on this fall, the first trail I worked on we stayed out of, I buried my sled going up another trail to come down the first trail I cleared.

It did snow hard today but the worst stayed south of us by 17 miles.

We'll lose it all in a couple days but the sleds are running nice.

If we lose the snow, I'll be in the Ravine removing some chit I left.

The stump removal which was a pain worked out nice, I still have a few I missed.

    Looks like a blast

Last winter when we got a good bit of snow down here the girlfriend and I went sledding too, but all we had was a Rubbermaid lid

Not as nice, but still fun

Yesterday we went in the Ravine with the sleds, we were lucky we made it out, today we came in from the opposite direction and it was easier getting out.

I measured 17 inches of snow in the Ravine, not much considering what the Buffalo area received.

Pic 0429 is looking down the first trail I cleared this fall.

In pic 0430 we made it up to go down the first new trail I cleared this fall, we stopped for a cup of coffee (pic 0430) before we headed down the trail, in pic 0433 the wife is just coming down.

The Ravine gets some great sun so maybe we'll get some type of fireplace down there for the winter so we can cook something.

Was it cold enough today to avoid any melting Zap?

All the old/new to us trails that I opened gives us another mile plus trails on the low side of our property, it looks like we'll lose all the snow but the county trails don't open until Dec. 15.

Yes it was, we're sitting at 17 for a high.

It won't be hard for me to put the chainsaws up for the winter, it will be a nice long rest.

The only time I'll be running the chainsaw once the county trails open (Dec 14 or 15) will be to clear anything down across the trails or around the house to burn some branches, the gathering of firewood will be done.

Just a few pics from the ride today, we did lose some tops off some trees in the wind storm but the trails never had anything big across them.

I think tomorrow will be spent clearing above the Brook, this is the last place I promised the wife that I would have the trail open.

Maybe if I'm lucky she'll bring lunch back!

I had to call it a day just before getting started, it looks like tomorrow will be the same, I spent the day at the hospital with a family member.
