I skied in my youth but I don't think I would have had the guts to try that. Notice the starting and finish elevations? That was a 10,000 foot run/flight. Heck we don't even have ski mountains higher than 3,000 feet here in PA.
I always wonder about who tries these things for the first time. "Ok Fred, you put on the rocket pack and then get on the pogo stick and let's see what happens. Well that didn't work, who wants to go next?"
We Just got home last night from the Poconos, opened the site and saw that! I'm no skiier by any stretch of the imagination but man that looks fun!
Well bogydave, it seems we have a lot more in common than just building similar woodsheds… this is getting weird… back in 1998 until 2001 here in Maine, a friend and I ran a powered parachute flight school called SkySail. What brand are you flying in the photo? Did you know Mike Jacober up that way? I know he was into trikes but thought you may have crossed paths years ago.
This is what I enjoy, got way from it, now bought another set up and going to fly from my farm here... Just have to practice my kiting skills before flying again for a good launch... It's like sitting in a chair with nothing in front,,, what a view! Dream like!
Keep us posted with pix once you get launched. You para motor guys are a mighty skilled and rugged group. I see where you're from in NY. Any chance you ever ran across the Blue Heron folks Nick and Marie Viscio?
Did some mountain top flights just paragliding without the motor as well... I love being in the air big time!
