I just want to thank you guys for all of your help so far, I really enjoy reading the forum. I’m learning tons of new stuff! So back to the topic, I’m working on splitting some stuff I picked up this weekend ( It’s hot as hell in PA right now) and I got some maple rounds. The splits are light which cancels out sugar I presume, I’m leaning towards silver. What do you guys think?

    welcome to the forum!
Looks like some kind of maple, a little past it’s prime.
Looks like it’ll fit in the stove though

Since you're in Philly, I'd say Silver maple.

Glad youre enjoying the forum. Its definitely maple judging by the spalting. Im leaning toward red maple based on bark. A tad past prime as M2theB said, but still burnable.

Yep, soft maple. Decent wood, dries fast.
