In the fall inside temps start dipping to below 70 better fire up the insert. In the spring inside temps start nearing 70 better open the windows.
Still 37F here, just tossed a few splits in the boiler with no winter outer wear. We haven't had much of a winter anyway, but 40 feels balmy outside.
No way! 70 in the house is too cool. Our house got down to 75 this morning so I started a fire in the stove. It's now up to 77 and climbing. It's about time to take my heavy shirt off.
Well, with me it goes back to my youth and this is one thing that polio left me with, so I keep the house really warm. Yet, I always used to love winter until the last 10 years or so. Fall is my favorite time of year. But as I age, even though I like fall and the cooler air, I struggle many times to keep warm.
Im in just shorts when the fire is going strong. She has socks, sweat pants, long sleeve PJ's with her robe and is sometimes puts the blanket on her when in the living room!
Looks like I'm the odd man out here. I keep my house at 64. I've always done it that way. In the summer I keep it at 78. I'm comfortable at both. I just slowly adjust to the season.
I must fall into that older category. I like it at 75 to 76 in the house and with a wood stove I can do that and not worry if it is going to cost me more in propane.
I'm not far from you at 68. Even at 68 mis, redneck complains it could be warmer, but we 68 is our compromise lol but I am very hot blooded and, work out side every day on a dairy farm so some days even at 50 I would think it's warm lol
