Does anyone from the Central Massachusetts area have any leads to someone selling any seasoned firewood? I started late this year and was only able to get a couple cords from my guy, he's selling semi-seasoned now and that won't help me this year. I've got 3 cords ready to go but I would feel more comfortable with 4. I've got a couple cords on the pallets now but that's next year's wood and probably wouldn't burn well this year. I've checked our local CL but there's only green wood and I hate buying from CL anyway. Just wondering if anyone has a guy that would be willing to sell a cord? I've got a few surgeries coming up, the first one is August 27th and I will be down and out for the rest of the winter so I'm scrambling right now!

    dylskee,
Here is what a guy around here did that must have been in a similar situation as you did. I traded him a pickup load of my two year dry for two pickup loads for me to cut on his property. He showed me the two trees he would have me cut and said I could use his splitter too. So, in a few weeks he said I can start cutting. I guess he had an operation and needs to lay low for a few months. I got his name from my guy at the saw shop.
Since, I am a scounger and don't really have any woods to call my own its going to work out pretty good for both of us.
Just an idea. He wanted to buy from me but i needed the wood more than I need the money. I don't know who got the better deal me or him. I'm ok with it.

That sounds like a great idea and I have plenty of green oak to split, probably another cord and a half. I used to see plenty of ads in the papers and on CL for firewood but there's not that much this year for some reason.

Around here there isn't a CL ad that doesn't say seasoned in it. I know darn well that stuff was cut/split last week

Same thing around here! I had one guy tell me that the red oak he had was fully seasoned and ready to burn so I asked him when it was cut and split, he said it was split a couple days ago but it was seasoned for 6 months in log length! :loco:  I told him I was all set and passed on that deal. Either some people have no clue or they're hoping we have no clue......
