never heard of that brand before- could be one of OEM MFG repackaged for the company. That's not say there are not some small scale BS mfg still around. Heck my own company used to make bandsaws in house years ago. We stopped when the cost of materials got more expensive to purchase than what we could buy ready made 250 ft rolls for. Current blades are induction or flame hardend at the tip, which adds to the cost of production.
Never heard of them. I wondered if they are made from a few companies and just rebranded , or sold in roll form and cut to size by the different saw manufactures. I have run : Cooks , Woodland Mills , Wood Mizer and Jerrys blades. I do have some of each to sharpen and courious if the profile on them is the same , I will know when I get a rainy day in the shop. They look close but kind of hard to tell with just a visual.
unless you put them side by side almost impossible to tell. biggest thing is what attack angle 7deg or 10 deg or somewhere close, and the kerf set. I can sharpen them but it is a pia. particularly when I have to turn them inside out to be able to run them through the grinder. I try to avoid doing these as it is more a labor of love- not something profit wise vs time per blade invested. ( same thing for router bits and hand saws).
I have a good grinder ( Cooks Cat Claw ) so I will know immediately weather they are the same or not. Obviously the difference between 7 and 10 degree is huge and tooth spacing can be checked easily enough. All mine are 10 degree and 7/8 spacing , I will check back when I look further into this. Also have a setter so that is not an issue.
I just bought a 10 pack of woodmizer silver tip blades that were 55 thousands thick. They have held up well even I dirty logs and rhe weren’t making waves in the lumber. Blades I was trying before got dull on slightly dirty wood.
Lots of small logs so s lot of dirty bark to go through. The average log got 2 boards per log so probably milled close to 200 bolts to get the 400 ish boards. Woodmizer says the thick blades are for higher hp mills but they seemed fine on my woodland mills hm126 14 hp.
These showed up on my doorstep today. Took advantage of the sale and free shipping. No excuse this weekend.
Nice looking spot you have there. I have a box of Woodmizer Double Hard but have not tried them yet, I don't know how thick they are but will have to check and see. I might need to adjust the blade guide blocks if there is a difference. Hope to do some milling this weekend so I will have to give them a try. Lehman ; what model is that mill? The reason I ask is I have some blade guide shoes that are for a 126 that Woodland sent me by accident and they don't fit my machine. If they will fit yours you can have them. Or anyone else here that can use them. Just shoot me a PM.
