I have been building a sauna in the Finish tradition at our cabin, and couldn’t be happier about how well it is working out. I still have to build a door between the hot room and changing room, trim, and finish the electrical, but it is functional and has been providing our family a great way to get clean, relaxed, and refreshed after our outdoor activities. In Finland sauna is called the poor man’s pharmacy.
Excellent! We have a large Finnish population here where I live. Growing up my buddy’s family lived on a pond and had a sauna. We would sweat for a while then jump off the dock. I miss that! A few summers ago I built a shed for the kids to store their junk that I fully intend to turn into a sauna when they are done with it.
