This is a deer I've known about for three years and just this year I moved right into where he roams. Had great intentions of chasing him this coming year, and a buddy of mine hunts less then a half mile from my house and has had pictures of this deer for three years. Has a very distinctive blind right eye. So tonight another friend called and said your never gonna believe what was killed by a car close to your house. I instantly knew it was him and asked if it had a blind eye. Yup for sure, it's him. What a FRIGGIN GIANT! Sad to see him go like this though.

What's really crazy is how much bigger he is then last year. Don't get me wrong he was big last year but not overly impressive besides having multiple drop tines. Now it's just crazy how big he was. And he still had over a month to grow!

    Wow.... That is a MONSTER!!

Sad to see him go that way, but with one blind eye? It's not surprising that he was hit with a vehicle. How their vision works, with only one eye? I'm surprised he made it that long.

Thanks for the pics.. I'm guessing with the dressed neck, that someone will be taking him to a taxidermist ?

I just hope he was the dominant buck in your area. Be a true shame not to have that DNA passed on.

It's a shame to see any deer go that way but it's even worse when it's a big ol boy like that! That is one big deer with a ton of character. Sucks that you wont get a chance to take him. Something tells me you've got your eyes on a few other bigguns. :binoculars:;)

@DexterDay yes he is going to the taxidermist, I'll get I go see him after he gets mounted. @Smokinpiney yes I've got a few big ones in mind still. Just sucks when a giant like that gets hit. I know first hand after last year when I hit the giant my wife was after with my truck.

What a shame been there had that happen too.

I was watching DT3 to hunt one season and had 1000's of cam pics right up to the back field too. Killed in velvet too and finished in front of my place with .40 by state patrol. I got a highway patrol to write it up so I could get it mounted in velvet.

Keep antlers on ice and get to tax if want mounted in velvet. I had to use a new cape too as other was ruined. Had to find a summer neck cape so it would look right with small neck.

Wow that's impressive, huge deer. Love the character on the deer.

I don't get the rack but a guy I know is having it mounted so I will be able to see it and get some pics after it's mounted.

Please get some mounted pics someday.

Whats crazy is look at the character of the one in your pic, with the 2 drops on the same side and single drop on other side. He would have been a monsters monster.
