Doesn’t look lazy to me. I’d be screaming louder than Dennis But everyone’s aches and pains are different. If it works for you that’s all that matters.
That's a low splitter. A 36-40" work height and a splitter table would make it much more comfortable. I want to get a feed conveyor set up so I can roll rounds onto it and they get carried up to the table. Of course splitting off the back of the truck as you unload is great. Whatever works for the person doing the work.
About 2:15 I saw him put his finger in the split as he backed the ram up. Didn't a member here get his thumb hurt in a somewhat similar situation?
Yep, not for me, but if it works for others, good for them. Went back and watched some again and saw the finger in the splits. That could be Ouchy.
Sure did! Get reminded of it daily. I was actually talking about that today with someone. I consider it more of a freak accident than anything. Nothing i can do now, but learn from the experience! For those wondering here is the thread. Hydro Accident
buZZsaw BRAD ......... Since you brought it up.......far be it from me to pass up on such a golden opportunity for handing out some advice! Rule of thumb for running splitters is keep thumb out of the way!!!!

Profoundly glad myself. I wish the thumb was "normal" again. The tip is tingly and i have somewhat limited dexterity with it. Ziploc bags are a challenge as are holding fasteners while working! I take it as the new normal. Im a good sport...have all the fun you can!
