My wife and I had a nice day hunting our favorite game bird. Heading down the old logging road first thing in the morning. My wife with a nice bird in hand. Break time on a ridge top overlook. The morning hunt tally.
Beautiful color in those fall woods. Great time together and some good shooting! Nice pictures. I've only been out for squirrels so far. Sent from my SM-S536DL using Tapatalk
Was up in the mountains yesterday. The supposed target was Chanterelles but since deer, bear and grouse were open we also took our deer rifles and a 22 rifle for grouse (you can hunt forest grouse with a rifle here). So it was an armed mushroom hunt! Only saw one grouse that was far smarter than us. No deer but got about a gallon and a half of mushrooms each. Hard to come by this year. When I had a dog I hunted ruffed grouse with a shotgun a lot. You did well and it looks like you had a great day afield! I truly miss squirrel hunting those frosty mornings in Georgia in my youth. The pictures brought good memories!
hovlandhomestead Oh, do we miss our annual October in the NW of WI and our GSP Millie. Thanks for sharing the hunt and letting us relive our trips
