    Hey all!

My allergies were insane this year, and now that they've subsided a bit it feels good to run the saws and swing the axes. The state has been doing tree work all along Route 1 near my place and it's been good scrounging to say the least. Me and the local hoarders have been descending on the dropped trees like clouds of locusts on a cornfield. I pass up the maples and ash dive straight into the oaks. I've hit up the same couple of spots a few times now for a truckload of red and white oak and it feels OH SO GOOD to split that stuff. I'm running a 28" bar on the Chusky for the big stuff and a 24" on the Jonsered, which might I add is being a bit temperamental due to faulty fuel vent. I'll address that soon.

I pass by the carnage on my way to work everyday, and I can see the trees that have been marked to be dropped. I am literally salivating over a couple of white oaks that are not long for this world. I reek of two stroke and watery red oak sap. Sawdust falls out of my pants pockets. My truck bed liner is coated with bar oil. Such is our crazy fascination.

    Yeah baby! :dex:
Way to get after it RK! :tree: :saw: Nice being able to pick and choose when there's a glut of wood for the taking. I know that all too well. Common sight in this area along state roads in recent years.

    Work safe and hoard on!

Awesome. Make hay while the sun shines. Or in this case make firewood in between the rain drops.
