Couldn't help myself, saw one NIB for $119, had to get it. It's for Wyatt, my 8 month old grand nephew.
    I like to pre-plan...

My father in-law has bought Henry Golden Boys as soon as each of his grandchildren where born, oldest is 7, youngest (so far) is 3. President plan is a good idea!

Good deal. I bought my oldest his first gun when he was a little over a year. He got it this year for Christmas. Nothing fancy just a cricket .22 single shot.

    Yup, just ordered two more.
I'm sorry, I should have clarified- I saw that on-line.

They are still offering that price. I picked up the second one to experiment with, the reviews on accuracy are only so-so at best. I like a challenge.
The third is for a buddy of mine. It will be registered to him, he wanted a truck gun he could abuse but still shoot coyotes/deer if the opportunity arose.
The initial one I ordered showed up today but I'll wait to pick it up until the others arrive. Cheaper to register 2 at once.
    This will be fun.

I bought my son his first gun before he was born. As soon as I knew I had a boy. ;)
He got another one this year for Christmas.

update- just picked them up. My buddy picked his up today also, called to thank me for the deal.
Receivers are made by Taurus, but barrels stamped Rossi. At full cock, LOP is 13-1/4", so not a "youth" model as I'd call it. Very even blueing, open sights are in-line, no gaps on the furniture.
A bonus was the trigger. It maxed out my scale(72oz.) but only slightly, I'd call it a 5lb. trigger but nice and clean. Surprised me.
Downside- the fore-end retention nut is welded on. This
is bad for a few reasons, but mostly it makes my job tougher. It won't fit through the headstock on the lathe, so I have to go a different route that will require a "new finish" of the barrel when done. 'Cause I got plans for these little things!
For the price I got them at- A+ at this point. Range time may change that.

Bought my daughter the Rossi .22 .410 combo when she was 7. Was a great little gun for her, shot probably 1000 rounds through it without a glitch. I did like the fact that it has a safety as well as half cock, good for the young ones.

Update- Avoid these rifles for the time being. Very poor fitment on the barrel underlugs.
2 of 3 purchased have been shot, both experienced failure to break open. I haven't shot the third one.
Mine took a deadblow hammer to get it to break open, after 3 rounds. My buddy's locked up on the first round.
Major material removal, lots of Dykem and patience, his now works. Still working on mine but close.
Rossi wasn't any help either so I said screw it and am working them over myself. Don't try this yourself unless you've done it before. Just hold off on a new purchase until they get it figured out.
    Keep you updated......... JB

Rossi =Taurus. It's the same ownership. ROSSI makes the rifles and such and Taurus makes the handguns for both...with what it looks like taurus making barrels for rossi for at least some.

I'm surprised they did not take it back. Taurus is usually really good with their warrenty returns.

I'm sure they are, but I was told 6-8 weeks plus the shipping time before I'd see them back. That was a bit much. I just wanted to talk to one of their 'smiths, compare notes. That didn't/ couldn't happen so I went to work.

Yea that's sounds like the normal time frame. And I could of told you there was NO way they would let you talk to anyone!!! :p

Can you imagine the liability nightmare allowing a tech, engineer or gunsmith to talk to Mr BeetleKill from Firewoodhoardersclub about grinding on or modifying his new firearm from their company!!!! Haha.

I wouldn't let you near my people , no way no how. There is no way to prove your ability, competence , skill level or you or your family willingness to not sue if you hurt yourself from the conversation you had.

Oh and by The way I am not knocking or discounting your experience or skill level here...just talking from the companies liability concerns here.

I understand that aspect completely. If I was in their position I wouldn't give me the time of day either.
