My glass is sooting up more than it should. I replaced with new gasket but reading the article, I didn't do it right. I peeled the paper and remember putting the sticky side toward the door, then laid the glass on top and reinstalled the holding clip. The article method sounds better, sticky side to glass, splitting the gasket on the edges of the glass, then put it to the door. This should be a quick easy fix, at least.

I had to double mine up this year to get it tight. A single piece is loose.

I replaced my glass gasket, sticky side to glass. I also replaced the door gasket, not enough cement, didn't cure right, I don't know. I used the Rutland gasket cement in a caulking tube this time. It is watery first few squeezes, squeeze the water out till a good bead comes out. Also had some left over 1 side sticky gasket material. I used it to double gasket my glass, sticky side to firebox side of glass, covering the firebox edge. Small fire lit to cure the cement, it is already performing better. Also, wire brush wheel on a drill works great for cleaning the old cement off after scraping what you can.

I wrapped mine around the edge of glass as that's how it was when I got it. I stuck 2 gaskets together then put glass back in and now its tight.
