This is where I'll share the goings on with my growing collection of vintage RMM saws. I'll get into all the differences I've seen between them as this progresses. Today I put an NOS air filter and filter cover on the John Deere version, replacing its broken muffler with a spare and then fired it up.

The Montgomery Wards version was missing its cover and filter. I had a good used cover for it but I'll have to make an air filter.

I have a couple of relatives to your 61. The 23 is a runner. The 81 is still in waiting attention mode.

If you need any parts for the small deere, I have far more than I'll ever needs. Some new, most used. Several bars and chains too. 1/4 pitch and 3/8lp.

    I looked up the model 23. It's a Remington PL-55.

Yes, it's a beast of a 82 CC saw. Actually has a decomp valve on it. I got it running for a guy and found out he wanted to use it as his regular firewood saw. :hair: I ended up trading him a MS 290 for it. I also have a Montgomery Wards that is the same as the PL-55.

Hey Egg , is that the same saw you have in the display case with the noodles?
I really like the way that was done.

The one in the display case is an unfuled, unran original Remington mighty mite. The deere and wards are basically the same thing in different colors. I'll be laying out a whole bunch of information on these saws soon. Until then, another look at the new in box, 1976 Remy.

Wifey had it made for me. Hickory. Glass top, front and sides. Mirrored back. Recently added to the case is a mint, NOS, full can of original Remington mix oil with that saw on the can.

Ok. Some variety to the offerings in these saws. Mostly it was nomenclature. There were mechanical differences as well but to a lesser degree, which I'll touch on later.

Others just say mighty mite or mighty mite bantam. I may be missing some. I'll update if needed.

Then there are various models from deere and wards. Including red Wards versions as well as the yellow one I have.
