Cut and split up some red oak yesterday. Caught a break in the rain. That stuff was wet and heavy! Rounds were about 18-22" and all I wanted to handle. Of course my helper was there.
Yes its a 3 point mounted splitter. It was made by Ramsplitter and I have had it for 8 years. It has a PTO driven pump. I like it alot, i can run the tractor at 1900 rpms and split wood. Tractor is so quiet at that speed and from behind you can easily have a conversation.
Yeah she goes everywhere with me, thanks! This property has most of the common hardwoods other than cherry, elm and ash.
That is some pretty wood! Lots of young beech in there too but the stuff takes so longggggg to get to any size. But that is one reason it makes such good firewood.
Wow! Very nice; the oak, the dog, the splitter and the woods. Makes me want to bring some coffee and help you split and stack. Has a calming air about it.
Bark is off so must have been downed for awhile. Green, it would REALLY have been heavy. Looks like it split well.
It was actually standing dead for about a year and i just cut it down. Very few stringy pieces, it did split well.
