A couple days after it's been cut, the end grain of red alder is one of the best colors of spring. The pic in the truck was right after I cut it, before the color came out. The other pic was two days later.
That is something. It is always amazing to see all the different types of trees that show up here. Pretty cool stuff.
I guess you'll just have to survive with fir and pine that's ready to burn when it hits the ground, and leaves no ash.
Pretty neat . I just chopped and noodled a load of holly. The chips turn blue. First I'd ever seen of that.
