We did one summer 2019 and it was helpful, I called again but she's aged out of it, readinginstitute.org. Nor did I appreciate being pressured to give my credit card when I called to find out more.

I have a "virtual" parent orientation with Kumon on Wed.

Prager University has a link to something called Khan (idk looking at their donors...)

    Any others?

I'm going with Kumon. We did an assessment tonight. Strengths and weaknesses were pointed out and how to build on them, I know my 3 R's but I don't have the knowledge to do that with the free programs I've found. What I can do is make this program happen and get her to where she needs to be on the way to becoming a successful adult. This program also incorporates paper/pencil/writing, current school is mostly computer based assignments. Everyone needs to know how use a pencil and paper.

It is horrifying to know that some kids don't know how to read or write because they talk to and listen to the phone. All their communications are done through talking programs on their phone or laptops.

And when they do type, autocorrect fixes spelling. This new school does all assignments on a school issued chromebook, sure she gets her assignments done and gets decent grades, but at expense of reading, writing and spelling. I don't want her to be one of the kids like you describe and that's exactly what is happening here.

Speaking of auto correct, check this out. Auto correct says it is good.

Kiddo's been a trooper!! They started her lower than her actual grade level despite her earning a decent report card. I'm serious when I mean trooper, she knows this is 4th grade stuff and she does them anyway . Every night with minimal complaining :dex:. I have no doubt this school district would pass her through graduation though she "just gets by". Not fair to them on any level.

Abeka is a little more than supplimental....it is an entire education top to bottom, and through high school.
Ours did Abeka in various formats, and is excelling in 2nd year college.

I am glad you found something that you both are happy with. The improvement will really show up in her regular schooling as well.
