Supposed to be 5 to 10 below the next couple of nights with a high tomorrow of 10. When it gets this cold, I use both of my wood sources....one just isn't enough when it gets below zero for my 3000 sq foot home. Using my Jotul to supplement my Clayton (indoor wood furnace) keeps me from having to get up in the middle of the night to load . Also, if I need to burn more wood, I like to do it in my more efficient stove. Stay warm brothers!

By the way, I didn't mention my home is a ranch with a full basement....the wood furnace is in the basement, the Jotul up on the main floor.

We are in it. -8 here last night, thats unheard of in our area.
Brining in a full firewood rings worth of wood today, preparing
for the snow and cold this weekend.

How deep is the snow in your area IS? I'm a little west of the heavy stuff so I topped out at 3 feet and its compressed to about 2 feet now. Looks like we'll be adding more this week though so who knows where we end up.

We're looking at -16 tonight and 0 tomorrow for daytime temps. Guess where I will be! ;)

Sounds like you will be warm enough! How much wood do you run through with both the stoves cranking?

If both are running, I will go through about 32-36 splits in a day (24 in the Clayton, 8-12 in the Jotul). I usually only have to do that for about 24-36 hours though. After that, the house is usually 80 degrees :).
