Turning them inside out gives you better grip on the firewood. Also it preserves the life of the glove and it's more comfortable on your hands. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/fFJLxO18IBQ
I don't know what to think. I don't follow that guy on YouTube but one of his shorts popped up on my feed the other week where he was trolling everyone on how to start a chainsaw. He's gotten pretty far out there since his early days.
The cut he made is just more visible on the shiny smooth side. I'm sure one side of a peice of leather is no more cut resistant than the other unless it's finished with something to make it tougher. I'm not saying they don't last longer but thinking logically I'm not sure how they can. More comfortable yes. More grip, possibly depending on the situation. Disclaimer: I've never tried it I'm just thinking out loud here.
I don't follow his channel either, but I turned my gloves inside out about a year ago and it gives much better grip on firewood. I figured the worst that could happen is I didn't like it and just simply turn back like they were originally. Not much of a gamble.
Never heard of doing that with gloves. I've had gloves that were sorta rough on the outside, not smooth like some leather gloves, but dont remember if they lasted any longer. But rough out fire boots are supposed to last longer, in terms of cuts/scratches/ abrasion. I've never had rough out. If I decide to pull the trigger on customs, they'll be rough out.
Unfortunately it seems with YT creators they get more views with more extremist videos. Just like the shocked face thumbnails.
Quit using leather gloves years ago, much better luck with the atlas coated gloves, plenty of grip. Last longer too.
Yeah I saw sirbuildalot on the red carpet at the Grammys wearing sequin shorts, boots and nothing else. That guy changed.
Well Idk how exactly to explain it but I'll try. If you glued thousands of tiny hairs to your glove wouldn't the hairs start to wear before the gloves? Also wouldn't the tiny coarse hairs on the gloves create a better grip?
Looks like the kinda dude you would expect to see getting out of a Prius. I love how he’s always trying to bust on east coast guys knowing full well we’re the ones working with hardwood. But yeah, I might try the glove trick.
I gifted a custom pair of these gloves this year at Christmas. Seams are on outside of gloves. I'm too tight to buy myself a pair. lol
I used to drive a Geo Metro, now have a Honda Fit, does that make me some sort of weirdo in your viewm
