Who has burned these and what are they comparable to? Don't see much recent info on them, but what is out there seems to be a good reputation. I would like to try them but have never seen them around here. Does anyone know if they are sold anywhere in this region (MA, CT, RI)?
I haven't burned em in a few seasons. But I'd compare to liggies hardwoods, But bit cleaner. Decent heat, slightly below average ash. Hope you get some and love to hear what ya think!! Edit: I got mine from Blakeslee ions ago. They don't seem to carry them anymore. Maybe contact them(FBP) and see if they have a retailer in you area?? Here's the latest test data I could find!!
Not bad. Reminded me of my green team platniums. A little sootier than hamers and ligs I thought anyway. Tsc was loaded with them here last spring. I still think theres a few tons left out here in hudson valley ny
I've burned both...Not too impressed, but also not Green Supreme's!! Some people say they're great, that's what the dealer I bought my stove from said.
Thanks Jay. I filled out the form on their website requesting this info. If they respond like most of the other pellet manufacturers I've contacted, I'll be expecting a response...let's see...oh yeah, that would be never.
Our friend Eric at Kinsman Stoves in Ohio sells ProPellets exclusively and likes them a lot. I burned a couple bags some years ago that I traded for with Jay, and I liked them too.
I burned 3 ton last year. Being my first year with a pellet burner I didn't really have anything to compare them to. I did buy a few bags of other brands later in the year to compare. One thing I did notice was the ignition time was a little longer then some of the other brands. The pro pellets did seem to have a more uniform length then some of the others. Bought 4 tons for this year! Gary
I think I just bought a ton from TSC. I told the girl at the counter that I would only take Pro pellets, no green supreme or North Americans. She said that would be no problem that they would dig to the back row to get me my ton. We'll see what the lift operator says tomorrow night. Doggy
I burned 4 tons last season and I'll be buying them again. I can get Pro Pellets for $189.50 a ton. Somersets are better, but those are $249 a ton. I'm going the less expensive route as both are decent.
The normal price is $214/ton but they run a $25/off promo in August. Maximum of 8 tons. I plan on picking up three tons, as I have about 1.5 tons left over from last season. The mill (Fiber By Products) is only about 100 miles south of me, so freight costs must not be too bad. I just have to make sure I specify Pro Pellets when they load me, otherwise they try to pass off the Michigan wood pellets instead. But a pellet is a pellet, right?
My stove loved pro pellets and magic spark. They were a close second to the Sets. I'm planning on burning mostly corn this year, and I have 3 tons of Sets in the shed left over, but when I saw the local TSC had pro pellets a few weeks ago...my wallet finger got itchy.
That's the first stack they head for. I think they are programmed to do that. I almost had to jump in front of him to steer him to the good stacks!! Wow he says, Everyone loves the GS's. Your like the only one that doesn't like em!??
Jay this is so funny! The TSC stores around here will let you pick specific pallets when you do the early buy layaway. So a bought a few, and we start heading outside to pick them. On the way out the kid says I bet you want the green supremes right? I scowled at him and said no. He says wow, that's weird. I said why? He says 9 out of 10 customers want the GS specifically, they ask for them by name!
