Made a quick video, hope you enjoy. I think I need a little better angle on the shot. or possibly multiple angles.

    Thanks brother!!
It was straight, but it had a ton of knots in it, and he biggest one was probably 18" dia. Do you think it would be good for the mill?

I mill some pretty nasty looking cedar, it actually makes pretty nice looking lumber with the big o'l knots in it.

    Cool processor you have there!

The knots are a given for cedar. It would've been great. They add so much character. Bigger cedars are kinda hard for us to come by around here. I was ecstatic to find an 18" (fat end) cedar log nearly 10' long last Spring. It was a bit of a challenge, but buzz-saw and I wrestled it onto his trailer. [IMG]

Very cool pic!! In this area cedars grow like weeds. If you don't mow an area for a few years it will be mostly cedar trees that start growing.

Ive heard that about the Midwest. They're not really rare here, just unusual to see one that size. Not that common its used for firewood either. Most tree guys chip them.

Hmm, interesting. They all get 20" plus here. Most people mow them down and will plant other trees. It is unusual to use them for firewood here too. I just got them delivered so I figured why not. Most wood burners around here would never burn cedar, pine, spruce, cottonwood, willow, sumac, or aspen. Some people would cut down a cottonwood just to push it out of the way to clear a path to cut better stuff. If we were out on the west coast all they have is pine and cottonwood, so we should consider ourselves fortunate.
