In retrospect this piece should have been split before going in the stacks but what the heck it seems to fit ok and burnt great!
Thats an ugly one, but they burn just as good, you really got it packed in there for having an ugly like that.
So long as its dry and it fits, the bigger the better. Of course you need some small ones too. I love burning a bid ugly like that, good heat and good riddance.
Glad it fit. Not sure where you got it but if that had been cut right it would not have been an ugly.
Heck Certified, that's not so bad you'd fit right in with those outdoor burners they just put half the tree in but at least yours wasn't green wood.
Wow... That's one big Ugly!! That T-6 has a Big Belly!! How big is the Firebox on one again? I have the wife talked into a new stove for the basement (next year). I am weighing my options. I am almost 100% going Cat (BK or WS) but if it's the same size or bigger than the 30-NC (and prettier). Then I will consider it.
What kind was that Cert ? I just love those barkless pieces with moss growing on them. Funny how that is, my wife admires a piece of jewelry and I get all excited about a good hunk of btu.
+2 Burn good, just take up lots of space & don't stack worth a hoot . Looks really dry Fire pit wood .
the log it came out of was already down in the woods. Couple friends and I were clearing trails on his property and I was keeping the wood. Not sure who cut cut it but I am an equal opportunity burner and that one piece had some great btus so on top of the stack it went! I don't have a ton of property so I can't be to picky and have to burn most of what I can find. Doesn't really matter to me what it looks like or even the type. If it can be burnt and has had three to four years CSS then I will burn it. In my book burning stuff like that is better than buying logs but that's just me. Yeah I probably should have split the knots off the sides but in the end it was all ash anyways
