http://www.ebay.com/itm/121669609449?_trksid=p2057872.m2748.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT Starting with the Super Pro 80 in 1971 & ending with a short production run of the very rare Pro Mac 805 from 1980 to 1985 & Double Eagle 80 from 1985 to 1990 (I've only seen a couple of each model) - This series of 5 cubic inch/82cc powerhouses were very popular for medium/large timber among the pro's. Some models are easier to find than others. The Pro Mac 850 was made from 1977 to 1980. Will pull 36" bar/skip chain all day long, powerhead only weight 17.5 pounds. Most of the parts are interchangeable between the different models. I should see it later next week. Same Seller I bought the Mac SP125C & Jonsered 2077 Turbo from in the past couple years. He's a real stand up guy,is even throwing in for free a few new parts like a piston/other stuff that fits several other older Mac's. None of my stable needs anything major, but its nice to have more parts to add to my stash or in case I want to trade/sell something sometime.
I have my father's. Should get it out and use it one of these days. You should see it buck firewood with a 20" bar!
http://eugene.craigslist.org/grd/5058609316.html Oooooh nice! Pro Mac 700 70.5cc will pull 28" bar/full comp no problem. They probably wont ship it though.I'd gladly pay $40-50 extra for that..... Little brother to the 800,805,850 etc.Sold from 1977 to 1988. I have the previous version, the 7-10 Automatic that needs a fuel line, carb work, minor tinkering. But the 700 would be nicer with its electronic ignition over the PITA from the points/condenser of the older model.... In March 2013 I seen a MINT PM700 for $130 on local Craigslist here, left the person 3 phone messages (they never answered their phone or responded to my email ) And the ad was deleted within 36 hours so I assume it was sold quickly. In that good of shape its a $250-350 saw on feebay.
Arrived yesterday afternoon,I worked late & was too tired to do anything other than open the box,put some 40-1 mix in the powerhead & give the rope a few pulls.... Tank was bone dry & it took 7-8 pulls for the gas to do its thing.Compression is killer - 176 the Seller stated. Before starting I held it by the rope at shoulder height, finally it dropped a couple inches. It has an original 28" .050 gauge McCulloch Speed Mac bar with replaceable sprocket nose that looks New Old Stock - an early version of the Oregon,Stihl & Windsor/Sandvik pro bars commonly seen today. Worked today from 6AM to noon,so I played around with it some after getting home. Made a few cuts in some 20" 2 year old dead Black Cherry, chain isn't real great (rakers need lowered some) but I was very impressed with this beast.
