If you already have a 58cc chainsaw I'd step it up to a 72cc range. Stihl ms 461 is a 72cc saw and cuts like crazy. The power head only weights around 14 lbs which isn't to bad, and if you apply a 25" bar it has very nice balance. And when limbing out a downed tree with a longer bar you don't have to bend over as much!

I myself use a stihl 026 for cutting up smaller stuff and a stihl 661 for the bigger stuff.

+1 on the 70cc saw, a 62 is not enough additional capability for the expense. I am in the process of doing the exact same thing. I have a 53cc Redmax, just bought a 70cc Stihl MS 440 Magnum for big stuff.

Your ~60 cc saw is considered the sweet spot for a single saw to use for firewood, so you are probably in good shape. Personally, I love my Stihl MS361 at 59 cc. and 4.4 bhp. It can easily handle hardwoods up to 20+" routinely. On occasion, I've cut 30" white oak with it and it's fine. I have bigger and smaller saws. Smaller saws are nice for smaller wood, but will run out of umph on big stuff. I also have a larger, 76 cc. saw. It's great for larger cutting, but I wouldn't want to run it all day since it's definitely heavier.

I have the Stihl 241 for cutting tops and limbing, and a 362 for the bigger stuff. It's all I need.

I couldn't decide which size I liked best / needed most either. So I figure MS200T thru ported MS880 ought to cover it. :D

And Mrs. TurboDiesel has her end covered with the recent prize of a MS 171, so I'd say y'all are really in sweet shape!

Ditto.... I prefer my 50cc 260 for all small stuff and a 461 for the bigger stuff. I haven't encountered any thing to big for the 461, if I did I would consider going with a 80+++ saw
