Wondering if any of you guys have one of these. This was given to me by a friend of mine, and I'm wondering if anyone knows the bar length, or which Oregon chain replaces the factory one.
Pull the bar off and the information you seek will be on the tail of it. It should be an Oregon D007 mount. Possibly 73dl not sure on the ga. either.
Firelaker is right. Examine the bar down near where the bar nuts go on and you will find lots of information stamped into the metal. It will include gauge, a number like 050 or 058. It will also include pitch, a number like .325 or .375 or sometimes in a fraction like 3/8. It will also include length in a sort of code like 72dl. The dl stands for drive links and the chain length is always specified as so many drive links not inches. My old Stihl wears a .063, .325, 72dl on a nominal 20 inch bar. The mount can be found on a cross reference list based on saw model. There are a large number of possible bar mount configurations so you can't tell the players without a program.
This is what your looking for, the numbers and letters to identify your chain This bar is, 16" it takes this chain . 050" gauge , 57 drive links, 3/8 pitch, low profile chain.
Thanks for the replies, now someone school me on sharpening. I got another saw free (Poulan pro 335). I rebuilt the carb and it runs great. Replaced the bar and chain and will carry it as a backup to my craftsman (Poulan 3700), so I can afford to have the 405 down for a bit. I have to split the case on it anyway, because the fuel is mixing with the bar oil.
Took it and had a sharpened, oil or is it working properly but I was dumping a little b&c on it while I played with it today. damm thing is a wood shark!
