I recently came across a Poulan 655BP and in doing some research I found that many people are interested in it. I'd like to know some more information on it and possibly sell it. It needs a carb kit and a gas cap

Very strong saw. The BP designation means the cylinder has the Boost Port feature, which can be seen through the exhaust port or by removing the recoil cover. Parts aren't common, but aren't difficult to track down either. Easy saw design to work on. The 655 is the equal (and is based off of) the Pioneer P65. The biggest issue with that series of saw is the divider between the gas and oil tanks. Should it ever fall out they are a bear to put back. You need to know how to start one or your fingers might be ripped off. Set the decomp and roll the saw to TDC and pull like hell. The fuel caps will swell on all the late Pioneer and early professional Poulan Pro saws. You can avoid that by storing them dry. If you have a swollen cap, put it in a Ziplock bag in your freezer for 3-4 days. Here are mine (with a P-65 at the back), I am buying few saws these days but would gladly take another 655 if you are selling.
