Got my usedpoulan 306a today. 120 psi runs with gas in carb. (Lines maybe carb rebuild etc.) No bar or chain. Got it as a back up and I like these old saws. Suggestions on bar and chain. 20 inch? What say you?

    I have a number of 306 saws, at 59 cc's they will pull a 20" bar.

I have a 306a and yes it will pull a 20" bar just fine. Also like you mentioned if it will start on prime but not run then I would do the fuel line, filter, and kit the carb. Like Guido mentioned 59cc and not a bad running saw.
Just make sure that you are aware of it being an older saw and keep your ear tuned to the engine in case a crank seal is going bad.
