I am rather proud of this project!:thumbs: The wife can't reach the velcro that holds the door and now she can open it and we don't need the velcro at all. The string holds it up just fine.

I didn't have to drill or screw any of the pipes in the garage I simply used one hose clamp and zip ties. It works great!

I shoved a piece of pvc through the bottom of the door but you could also screw it to a piece if you don't have the pvc flap already. You need pvc to make the door roll up right.

I started outside the garage with the string and tucked the string under the rain flap into the garage roof line. NO cutting of the tarps is needed just push it under the overlap of the roof.

Then I ran it under the bottom side of the door outside and into the inside of the garage then up to the top of the door where I zip tied a swivel pulley on each side of the door. You need to run two separate strings to do this.

Then you run the strings over to which ever side you want to. and to another pulley that both strings go through.

After that simply tie a big not in the string ends to keep the together and from pulling back through the pulley.

    simple as that.

It cost me 3.49 for each pulley at TSC and $7 for the string at 100 ft. I think the zip ties where maybe $5 for 120lb ties.
Well Seasoned I know you have one maybe this would work for you.

That was a cool little invention.
What gets parked in the shelter during the winter?

It's new we bought it this year because I am using the winter to redo the layout inside the garage aka man cave lol. we are also storing wood pellets in the right bay of the garage. We are putting the daily driver inside for the winter and letting the woodhauler set outside with a bed tarp on it. I am ordering a full truck cover for that in a few weeks though. The garage is liable to take most of the winter as it's a big undertaking. If I need to work on the blazer ( daily driver) there is plenty of room in the portable garage and it heats up very fast.

That way of rolling up huge cloth/tarp doors on aircraft hangars is very popular. Heavy ones are even pulled by winches. It's a great way to do it Pallet Pete ... should work perfectly for ya. Cool...
