I'm working on some interior finishing on my pole barn upstairs living space. The area is already framed out and I'm adding a Sheetrock ceiling and knotty pine paneling. Had the knotty pine milled the local saw mill. The room was just used as a storage room and now will be living space. :)

Ceiling is lower than I would like, but it was t he best I could do with the existing trusses.

Carpet to come, insulating the ceiling, added windows and need to trim the rest out.

Looks Great! How big is the area you are finishing? I would fill that sucker full of hunting trophies and make it a man cave!

25 x 30 or 750 sq. ft. We really needed some extra space for when we have company or friends come over. I'll try to post a finished picture whenever that happens!

Very cool Fanatical1! I think the ceiling and wall combination is great. What will you trim the windows out with?

Thanks everyone. Trimming the windows, ceiling and base out with knotty pine also. Doing a textured knockdown on the ceiling. Used cans with LED dimmable lights.

    Cool.

Did you hear about the woodworker who died when he fell into a vat of varnish? It was a terrible end, but a beautiful finish.

Finished the upstairs play room a little while back and thought I would add a pic as promised...

Came out OK for an amateur... Need to get a little furniture, for when company shows up. Maybe a futon or two.

Very nice! If I was ever a bachelor again (not that I want to be) I'd build a BIG steel building and live in the loft of it.

WOW, I think we have different definitions of pole barns! looks like you have poured concrete floor... And I assume footings! Up here Pole barns are no concrete slabs or footings on gravel.. difference is in how town taxes structure.. We would call your space a garage with bonus room above but it sure is pretty!

Air mattress huh? Get a lot of high water there in Ohio?
I would like to build a garage this coming summer and have not yet decided between a stick built or a pole building. Any recommendations would be helpful! Looks great!

if I did it again I would probably go pole. Mine is block, with attic truss. Difference in cost between attic truss and regular truss was very little and I got a 600 square foot attic
