Doesn't look like poison ivy. I don't see the lobes like poison. Unless it's not developed yet. Did you spray it with chemical? Looks red on the edge
Never seen any in person.....that I know about. Not sprayed. Yeah, all the leaves are reddish. I've got some other stuff that may be PI, so I'll try getting a pic on here.
I know in the fall they'll turn red. Just ain't seen them red like that this early. Here are some pictures for reference.
I see some of those leaves have the "notch", or "thumb" on one side. Haven't been outside yet (raining), but I'll take pics when I do get out.
So, took a walk with Casper (and the skeeters almost carried me off), but couldn't find anything like those. Could have sworn I've seen some. Is it too early for it up here? Everything else is sprouting and greening up, so............
I've heard that plenty.......but Trillium have 3 leaves.... We've got a bunch of those. I'll keep my eyes open.....except when I'm sleeping, that'd be weird.
Roll in it, and give us a report back. We have some at work similar to that, I'll look this week and see if it is similar.
I know we have some of it around here, but I just never had any run-ins with it. Probably not much around....
I'm going to say not PI. Leaves are not necessarily in groups of 3 on that one. Edit: Leaf patterning looks similar to Poison Sumac (equally itchy) but the red is kinda off for this time of year. Is it in a real shady spot?
Not PI - the veins in the leaves are across from each other instead of offset, middle leaf isn't bigger and all leaves aren't in groups of 3. Here is a great resource in telling if it is poison ivy or not. BTW - the poison ivy around here gets plenty of red when it is young then turns greenish as it gets bigger. Also roots are red. I had a major PI offensive (maybe defenxive?) going last year and I hope I've beaten it back for a while. Unfortunately it comes from the swamp next door so I can't eradicate it and birds help move it along to parts of the yard that aren't even on that side.
Here is a small patch I saw at work today with young growth. It was raining, so the leaves were a bit glossy.
I take no chances around the yard. If it even resembles poison ivy, it gets nuked. I'm one of the unfortunate few who can apparently get poison ivy if standing downwind or even thinking about it. I've been 'ivy itch free' since I started my eradication program. If only taking care of mosquitoes and biting flies were that easy....
