Saw this on the counter of my sporting goods store the other day, great idea. I think they wanted $20:eek:. I've got a few old telescoping antennas around here somewhere. If you carry a lighter or firestarter, one of these should be right next to it.

The warnings need to be more explicit. They go into detail about poor conditions to start a fire in. But are deficient in the "do not inhale". Not intended for use by children.
There should be a one way valve on this to prevent any possibility of inhaling while in use. Even an adult could make this error. One who get startled, one who had a few drinks etc. Or maybe a kid who want to show off. One inhale on this and the results are one torturous demise.
Aside from that, this is a very effective tool. The idea is as old as mankind, but now with the modern twist of being a pocket version.

Not what I expected to see when the word "bellows" is used.

I do use a 1/2" copper pipe for helping start the mud oven for delivering air to the base of the fire. They do work well.

Anyone remember the tool that was a handheld cranked device that had a mini blower wheel and a tube to put air at the base of the fire. It looked like the old hand drill or crank egg beater. I thought it was a decent looking device.

    AKA, a straw.
I've seen an actual miniature bellows at TSC.
