Try sliding the nut off of the elbow and see if the threads will start. Maybe the threads are boogered up?

I think you've got the wrong plastic.....uh, gasket, or whatever those are called. Isn't that supposed to be flat?

They also make flat rubber ones, usually in orange that should work.

The crazy thing was that same type of washer was on that pipe, maybe that's why the nut cracked.

I had it done by 8:40 this morning but we had a small leak so I snugged it up tighter and everything is good.

thewoodlands get the Teflon tape off of the tailpiece. it will only ruin your day later. you need the flat tire shaped washer on the end.

as far as shark bites, terrible idea. get the right parts and do it right. per is great, but that's with the brass fittings, that's abs stuff is junk.

    Nope.
We thought that too, until we used it. No runs, no leaks, no errors, and tons less time. Piped a whole new construction basement not too long ago in about 4 hours. Try that with copper.
Come on into the 21st century, the Pex is fine. :dex::rofl:

I do little to no household plumbing, so pex is not my thing. I have done tons of schedule 80 pvc. up to 20" though

Put this piece in with a crane:dex:
    I was surprised. a 20" 90 is only $1200
    :faint:

I like the rigging to pull it together.
