Hello all, Our rifle matches have started, last Sunday was semi-auto "Military" 100 yrd, placed 3rd... Yesterday, "Mothers day" was 200 yrd and 300 yrd Varmint small bore center fire, placed 3rd in that also! But had some stiff competition, those old guys are tough... Anyway, My wife wanted to shoot something that was more fun that she could see she is hitting it, I have 6 various .22's she likes shooting so I whipped this up. This club has a variety metal silhouette targets for the lawn but then you knock them over and start again. I made this so she could shoot a 100 or so rounds and not get bored. I had the scrap wood and the square 3/8 plate. The A500 round is a bought, e-bay, "good buy" also. Gonna try it out today, weather permitting...
Keep some extra chain handy. If it gets shot at much, the chains will end up broken. Some flagging tape or something that will show wind speed/direction is nice. Happy and safe shooting!!
My cousin has a range with targets like that. From 25yd out to 125. We shoot with ar’s. The wood tends to turn to Swiss cheese from the lead splatter. But we just put a new board up. Nice work, as said it’s fun to hear the ring. We make the guy that shoots the chain wear a dunce hat!
, GREAT IDEA!!! I've been punching holes in paper for 40 years and I got the idea from you tube actually. Our club has a "shooting tree" where the arms swing and I was thinking up something different for the wife. We also have A500 silhouettes of Varmints, Sheep and boars. They're just a pain in the @$$ to dig out, place and put back, This will be fun for the wife. I'm sure after a couple thousand rounds of getting beat with splatter and "missed shots" I'll have to rebuild at some point, but it was all junk I had laying around except the one e-bay 8" gong.
Thanks Dave, I just can't seem to get past 3rd... Our Christmas lever gun match I took, "guess what"......
