Well I took my first stab at this 665/7910 solo hybrid build. I'm not super happy with the out come YET but she's no slouch. Needs a tad better chain! An unlimited coil and some break in time. This is cut 9 and 10 on a fresh build. Well get her all ironed out here very shortly! 20160216_164412.jpg

Why mess with a "factory rod of hot" as Gunter from Gugenheim would say?

And a few others that I don't remember right now.

Reading Gunter'S posts I literally spit out my drink a few times it caught me off guard it was so funny.

Muffler really close. Decomp not at all. And she needs either a spacer or in this saws case a big squish cut to make up for the longer stroke crank. 81cc of fun

What kinda muff mod did it get? Sounds good and runs good. Thanks for the video and look forward to futile vids if you're still working on it!!

I'm also curious as to how much spacer or gasket you had to use. Everyone use to say it was 1 mm. But I have heard different recently.

And the Solo's are still one of the best looking saws out there. With an L & T or a Total bar? Hard to beat them!!

I'll get some pics. It got a dual port muffler. But my tig welding dosnt look so beautiful.

On the spacer i took .057" from the squish band. Didn't touch the base to get .020" squish. It's gonna be a high comp saw! :dex:

WKEND LUMBERJAK is coming up to run it this weekend. Maybe we'll get a good vid with a good chain.

Here's ya some pics and numbers DexterDay
I took .057" from squish, gasket matched and reworked the lower trans, 100/128/81 is where I set the ports up at.

    Advanced the timing 7°

It's built very similar to this saw. This saw is 101/129/80 OR 81 I can't remember for sure on the intake! This is CapitaineHaddoc saw for those of you that know him.

Looking good! So the 1mm spacer that a member talked about over a year ago was a myth?

If it was going on a stock chamber? Then it may be needed? But machining can eliminate the need.

Correct. If you want to cut squish you don't need it. If you want it to be stock you need a spacer. I'm sure you could run a sheet metal spacer and 2 gaskets on it like I've done on a few when using other pistons.
