Pines all stacked

    Finished splitting and stacking this batch of red pine. Little over a cord. Still have room on my pallet for one more NY face cord.

    Here's a couple of progress pics I took. :)

    I like to sort the pieces as I load them onto the trailer - the straightest, (mostly) knot free pieces go on the back, small "filler" pieces next, and the more oddball pieces to the front.

    I get the cribs built up first - select 2 pieces that will give me a nice level surface, then jam one or 2 of my filler pieces in the middle. Sometimes Ill add a shim or 2 if the outside ones don't like to lay perfectly flat. Lately my girlfriend has been helping me when I get to this point. :thumbs: Today she even rearranged a couple pieces on me for a better fit. :tears:

    Those look impressive. I'd say your stacking is right up there with the best of the FHC'ers... that pine will be some good shoulder season burning....

    I always respect neat stacking. I love cutting, don't mind splitting, but have no love for stacking!
