I just picked up my 1st PA tuxedo for this upcoming hunting season. Woolrich 503 jacket with matching pants and heavy duty suspenders. Anyone else wear the old school hunting attire?
Have a Woolrich coat, a pair of Johnson Mills pants and a Johnson shirt-jac. Wear some combination of them a few times a year.
In cold weather I usually wear lighter grey Woolrich wool pants over my jeans with wide suspenders and a belt. Large Pendleton wool shirt over a light silk long john top and then cover it with my Filson double caped coat in red plaid. Since we have to wear hunter orange, I have a xxxl Cabelas orange fleece vest over all, treated waterproof. It adds a couple extra pockets and a bird pouch in back. I also have a small REI day pack with straps on the bottom that I can roll the Filson and strap underneath when the mid day sun warms things up. I also carry all the gear for a couple nights stay, if necessary, when elk hunting or muley hunting far and high! As well as my rifle, I carry a 1911 45 auto in a shoulder holster.
I have a selection of Woolrich, LL Bean, and Pendleton shirts. No matter anther I am wearing modern tech outerwear or the wool, I have one of those shirts on when I am deer hunting , snow plowing or wood cutting in the winter.
Still have my old wool plaid hunting suit. Starting to think about a new suit using the berber fleece.
