We had a pecan tree beside our driveway/field road. Our son will be moving a mobile home down that road soon, so needed it gone. It had a hard lean into our yard, towards a dogwood and a white oak sapling. Notched it parallel to road, cut part of the compression wood, tapped in a wedge. Cut more of the holding wood, landed right on the big pile of limbs... I knew the bottom 4-5' had fence wire in it, so that section went to the gully wash. Nice logs above that... Cut a few more pieces at dark with the SxS lights... Decided to be safe and finish another day.
Just from reading the title I really thought this thread was going a different way...something along the lines of making trucker bombs... Nice work on the "pee-can"

Yes sir, lots of pecan orchards down here. One company, Lane Southern Orchards, in Ft Valley GA, has about 1000 acres of peach trees and over 1000 acres of pecan trees. They own a big farm in our county. Lane Southern Orchards | Peach & Pecan Farm, Market & Café In Georgia

Great job getting it down safe Jeff. Now I understand why you cut it so low to the ground. Nothing worse than hitting metal while making the felling cut(s). Been there done that!
Definitely have AC, probably have a corner you could prop in...lol.. Mayhaw is a thorny bush, makes a small fruit. Don't think I have ever had any jelly
I'll probably put a semi-chisel chain on and cut it closer and smooth, in case somebody drives over it
Got the rest of the pecan tree cut up and moved... Nice little pile... Got a few skinnies also, for another shed
Some of that pecan would rival gum, elm or sycamore for twisted grain... Split this with single wedge on Blue Samson... We got the tree split and stacked...at least 2/3 cord from it...
