My son bought a house w his soon to be fiancé a couple months ago. It has a wood burner and they see the benefits of using it. Last fall he brought a couple loads of wood home and they sat.. till today. Loaded up my splitter and will be giving him my old dump cart.

    Then back to it.

And where we stopped for the day.

I came up with 1.4 cords. None of the big rounds by the small shed were touched yet. I left my splitter so he could finish as he had time trough the week.

A good amount of "seed" splits. Hopefully, they'll attract friends

Ha, I'll take it... As long as there's no red involved. :D

TY. This was 100% oak so the apple doesn't fall far from the tree right?

We split it on the small side in hopes to dry quicker.

Well Jason, when you pass it on to the next generation, you're officially an old fart! :BrianK:   JK!

Nice gesture there. Hopefully he will turn into the wood wolverine jr. Do you think it will catch on with him or will you be his main wood supplier?

Not a bad start at all! Hopefully, the bug bites him and he sticks with it. It's good to see Dads and their boys working up firewood together.

He cut and got all that wood to his place w/o me. The family farm that his girlfriend keeps her horses at had some trees taken down. There’s still more to get. He has no truck currently so that’s a major issue. I offer to help him get it so it’s just a matter of taking me up on that. He knows I don’t want to sell wood. With the amount they’ve spent of fuel oil this year, I know they’ll see huge savings as soon as they get burning. He wants a truck but since they just bought their house, money is tight.

So true! He helped me a lot before he started chasing girls, lol. Then it pretty much stopped and I didn’t push. Wife went along today so for the most part, Andrew and I ran the splitter and the ladies stacked. Great memories that I will probably never forget. :)

That's great to hear man! Getting the ladies involved makes it even better. A true family affair!

Hopefully, there's many more firewood days ahead for you two to enjoy together.

He currently has a Honda Civic Si and an old late 80’s lowered Ford F150 that is un-usable. It has engine issues and a rear leaf spring that is significantly cracked. His girl had a Camaro SS, so no hopes of a hitch to even borrow my trailer. I think he will end up getting a beater truck sometime soon.

This is great! Young folks sometimes can have a rough time when starting out. Good you can help out some and really nice working together.

Thats my dream car!. In the 90s they were much more affordable. I was young and didnt have any $$. Now I have a little more $$, but prices are much higher. Should of found a way when I was in my 20s.

Way to go Jason. I hope to do the same with my sons someday. I still need eye bleach when I see the Michigan emblem of yours.
