    Any hoarders ever process riverbirch. I stumbled upon some today and I would like to know how it splits, how long it takes to season and if the btu’s are quality. Thanks! ASNR!!

    Never cut or burnt any but its my understanding its as good as other birches! buZZsaw says grab it all if decent!:tree:

    I grabbed a bunch. I will probably get 60 or so splits out of it. Im thinking about splitting it really thin and using it on top of kindling to get the hardwoods going. I hear river birch burns pretty fast but gets hot quickly.

    I had some paper birch that was C/s/s in May/June 2017. Dried within a year and a half, absolutely loved burning it, smells great.

    Not totally sure but I imagine river birch is in the same league as grey or “white” birch. If so, this is lower BTU than yellow birch and black birch.

    River Birch 100%. I took one down in my yard a few years back. Dries quick. Burns quick. Good shoulder wood

    It’ll burn! Any kind of birch will do fine, I’m fond of white. But don’t dally on it. Split it and top cover it.

    I got a bunch from clearing out down by my river. You have to process it really quick, it goes bad quick if left in rounds and not top covered. Burns nice, perfect for your idea.
