Finally got the Husqvarna running right and got it cutting, after using it to fell a few trees and buck up a few pieces of oak the differences between the CM I used and this saw are very apparent. Despite the shorter bar it's perfect for what I need, it pulls the chain with authority and I don't have to push the bar through at all even in large red oak. It runs and idles perfectly now and I use it as my primary saw, the only down side is that it weighs significantly more than my CM, making it a little rough for limbing, but I can live with that, overall I'm glad I bought it and it's a great saw.
Ran mine many years. bailing wire for choke & throttle linkage, taped handle Chain brake missing parts, finally too it off. don't idle very well. Still runs, good back up
Mine started idling low last time I used it but I think the carb just needs to be adjusted. Not to worried about it it's a pretty solid runner.
clutch on mine engages at idle . New clutch springs & Brake would be nice to fix . grip handle cracking, trigger lock gone. Some day need to find one for parts. Good saw , good power, weight is not that bad. Like 60cc & 20" , so I got a new 359 , , 4 years ago , like it, does what I need it to do.
18 inch bar is right !! She has seen some use.......but cleaned up nice . Strong engine still too !!! I had an old 61 white top years back . Good dead reliable saws !
I love the new 18" bar on mine, perfect for what I need it for, not too big and not too small, right in the middle.
I'm thinking of getting a newer 60cc or 70 cc saw at some point. Just not sure if I want Stihl or Husqvarna, liking the Husky's so far.
I stayed husqy, got a decent price on the epa model 359, was on the shelf over a year. I put a non cat muffler on it, so really no $$ saved. Now, probably look at the Husqy 545 or 555 auto tune, big $$ though, light weight
Big big bucks there. I like the Husqvarnas, but I'd most likely buy used, right now I really can't justify it, the plowing needs and wood hauling needs come before my desire to start hoarding saws.
Yea CAD nips at me but have been able to resist so far. 1 good 20" saw fits m needs. Probably could have just used the 61 but it was not reliable, no brake & not idle. It needs $$ spent on it, Real happy with the 359 / 20".
Sounds like it needs some parts, carb etc? But hey as long as it runs it's good to hang on to and if the new 359 works why jump right on repairing it right?
