I started a new part time job where I am working outside, no matter the weather I'll be out there.
So I'm attempting to find some bibs that will be water resistant at the minimum.
It seems like a no brainer to get something like the basic carhart bibs.
I just don't think the canvas material will shed water well in a downpour.
I am considering just getting them and than spray with a water repellant as needed.
I like the canvas material as it will hold up well in my job.
    PVC/polyester/nylon I'm concerned with snagging/ripping.
Possibly some high denier(?) would work though. I'm not a fan of the swish noise while walking though.

Did a search this morning for something left me boggling and thought asking here will help narrow down
    my choices.

Dickies brand are much less expensive than Carhartt. My wife got me a pair of these and I like them a lot. Granted I don't wear them daily.
Idk about the waterproofing, but as you say, you can simply spay them with waterproofing.

I think some gortex or helle hansson are what you need for rain days , car heart type for days w no rain in the forecast so you don’t wear out the more expensive rain gear as fast

They seem to hold up pretty well for me, but as I said, I don't wear them 5 days a week.

They also make non insulated ones that are about half as expensive.

My wife did a lot of research and wanted to get me bibs for wood cutting a couple Christmases ago. She was shocked at the price of Carhartt, and these Dickies got great reviews. I like them a lot

I think you'll be hard pressed to beat Carhartts.

Carhartt Storm Defender line... light weight, wind and waterproof, tuff as nails, but no insulation. I just wear under armor base layer and fleece pants under these... good to zero..... after that not much works for too long.

I have 2 carhart duck coats and while I like them they also aren't perfect.
They have their issues. But they hold up well but are not indestructible.
I'll look at the storm defender line as well. I'm not set on a brand.

    Neutering might work too.

I think Bob Barker's ghost intercepted my message. Or is he not dead yet. Lol

Carhartt is good, but I don't think they are any better than Dickie's. I've got a couple of Carhartt jackets. While they are durable, I don't think they are any more durable than the Dickies, and certainly not worth the price difference.
Also, these Carhartt jackets took far too long to not chafe my neck any more.

I chose to go with the berne, they had a good price and good reviews, slightly better than the dickies on amazon.
They were water repellant as well, I'll see how they hold up, hopefully well.
Thank you everyone for their input.

Let me know how those work. One thing I don't like about Dickies is that while they are an American company, they don't support American race series. They do sponsor the British series though. Dickies Will Be Title Sponsor Of British Supersport Championship - Roadracing World Magazine / Motorcycle Road Racing Daily News

They don't even sponsor any riders or teams in the American motorcycle roadracing series. Wd-40 and Milwaukee electric tool are the same way. They actually sponsor entire European superbike teams. Nothing here though.....
