I need to get some new 009 mount (big Husky mount) bars A friend had a new Versa Cut bar on his Echo. I was surprised at how light weight it was . But, I wonder how long will it last ?
I've not heard too favorable comments on em. I have one in 16" length and it's ok. Most problems seem to come from bore cutting, so if you do a lot of that, steer clear. The tips blow out.
I saw some on Amazon or some other site . And I ran the one on a friend's saw. It was a 20" running fresh 72 ELX chain i was cutting Birch. It cut pretty good. Plenty good enough to make a good days pay. The bar was noticeably lighter than the 009 mount Oregon solid bars that I run on my2172 and 565 sometimes . Bars nowadays seem to be so soft . It's rare to wear out a tip first. I'll look the Versa Cut bats over some more and maybe try one. But , I do a lot of bore cutting so that will factor into it . Thanks !
