I realize it is a light use, homeowner type saw, but is it worth $100. I keep seeing one on Craigs list that looks as though it has seen a lot of use. I wonder if it is any good since I have seen it listed now for better than 2 weeks. It looks as though it has a 14, possibly 16 inch bar and chain.

The add says it runs and cuts good but that's a matter of opinion.

Bar has a good bit of wear. Looks good. Probably worth $100 maybe a bit less. I have a like new orange 011 rear handle. When I get it back in shape I will ask $100-125 for it.

There cool saws and way better than the homeowner saws today. There not clam shell engines but cylinder on case construction like pro saws.

:handshake: I had one of those saws years ago as a backup saw, I liked it. Parts for those old saws may be hard to get now. Think about getting a 60cc saw if you're serious about cutting firewood. Only my II cents.:)

Oh this is for a primary saw..? That changes things a good bit. Mine is like a back up saw, for climbing , trimming branches in the yard, yard cleanup, or limbing. I would not use one as a primary saw. All the parts you probably need are still available and there tons parted out on ebay if you need a NLA part.

If I would pick up that saw, it would be for one to carry into the brush for some small stuff, like cleaning out the saplings to give other trees room to grow and some pruning or limbing. I already have 32, 42, 46, 50, and 60cc chainsaws so it's not that I really need another. But it is a possibility I might be coming down with a case of CAD to accompany my growing FAD, 12 cord cut, split, stacked, and covered, and planning on at least another 2 cord by the end of the year if the rains ever stop! :saw::stacke::axe::MM: I burn about a cord and a half a year.

Thanks for the welcome Clemsonfor. :D

If you like to tinker around and work on saws, it might be OK, just about guaranteed its going to need some work down the road somewhere, might need some work right now, and will you be able to get any parts.
You could watch the Black Friday sales and pick you up a nice little brand new saw for under a hundred and fifty bucks
