Only about half the crown on this 15" DBH x 60 ft black birch leafed out this Spring. Lucky me, it was right next to my wood processing and stacking area. So, the wife and I decided it was time to drop it for firewood. Should be pushing a full cord of black birch with the rest of the scraps of black birch I've been cleaning out lately. The MMWS MS261C w/ 16" bar and 3/8th LGX absolutely devoured it while bucking.

Stumpin' and Noodlin' with the MS461 w/ 25" bar and full-comp full-chisel chain. Good times!

Nice work, Mike - great BTU's.
Them noodles and some old candles could be fashioned into some fire starters, yes?

Made some this winter that I am happy with. Could've used them noodles then too.

I might just have to dry some of them noodles out. I've got the paraffin and double boiler on-hand already. The birch does burn really hot, at least in log/split form.

I hate it when trees have one little dead spot and require being cut, split and stack. I have a new 461 myself....how do you like it? I love mine.:dex:
