I’m an environmental science teacher and each year I do an ecosystem field lab where students need to identify tree types in the woods around my school. I usually use the Audubon field guide which I love but due to covid, I’m not supposed to be handing anything out to my students. Does anyone use or know if any apps or sites they can use that are good? We’ve tried leaf snap before but I don’t think it’s very accurate plus I want them to be looking at the whole tree not just taking a picture of a leaf and letting the app do the work. Any help is appreciated. Let me also state, to these kids a tree is a tree so they need to be able to start with the basics ie, it has needles va leaves

I'll plug my alma mater for this one:

The Fact Sheets link has the online guide, which I find pretty informative. The book linked a bit higher on the page is costly, but seems to be well regarded. I haven't spent the money on it, at least yet.
