    Can anyone here tell me if the Old Time Stove Company of Quebec, Canada, was part of, or a division of Old Timer stoves in the USA.

    Thanks!

    No, they are not related.

    Old Time Stove Co. Inc. is a boiler and plate steel fabrication company still in business. Warren Redman started it in 1979. He is now VP and Merv Redman is Pres. (possibly his son?) 36 years in business, he's probably ready to retire.

    Using information from The Fisher Stove Story, patents and trademark info I put together some history of Midwest Stoves that made the Old Timer;

    This was William D. Duncan, a pig farmer from southern IL that had his license to build Fisher Stoves revoked due to making his own Fisher adaptation. Duncan went on his own to make the Old Timer in March 1978 in his hometown of Mount Vernon IL. (also Joseph I. Beveridge and Bruce S. Hampton on patent) This was called Midwest Stoves Inc.

    Thank you for all of this great information, Coaly! We have one of each and always wondered if there was a connection.
    Old Timer stoves were very popular in this area in the late 70's and 80's, no wonder since we are only 2-½ hours NW of Mt Vernon.

    Our Old Time Stove Co. stove is 34 years old and has handled a lot of hedge and locust. Heavy welded plate and firebrick lining. Took four strong men to get it in the basement.

    Thanks again for the info!
